Greatest lay-and-pray fighters

In honor of Travis Lutter's victory tonight, let's show some love to the best all-time dry humpers. Here's some of my favorites, in no particular order:

  • Rashad Evans

  • Travis Wiuff

  • Carl Malenko

  • Mark Kerr

Who's the champion sleepfighter?

i am hard on fighters being boring.but i never have thought as rashad boring.

Matt Lindland

Ricardo Arona

Josh Koscheck

Matt Hamill

Mark Coleman

Daijyu Takase

Josh Koscheck is the worst of all time.

lindland is the worst by far.

Lol at Lindland and Koschek, theyve been finishing people like business. Yeah, Lindland KOing Horn faster than Lindland is the worst by far. Koshchek has finished 3/4 in his last 4 wins and last 5 matches starting with the TUF finale.

Antonio McKee is the greatest.

17 wins, 13 by decision.

Tito for sure, not counting his matches with aged ken

mckee is a good 1

to b the best u must never pass guard, and submissions are outta the question

That Fedor guy... 7decisions out of 25 fights..

Lutter even apologized for it before hand...

I'm gonna grind it out...Sorry Drago.

"Yeah, Lindland KOing Horn faster than Lindland is the worst by far"

Are you referring to Mark Lindland? Yeah, he's tough.

Watching Hughes used to be as exciting as watching paint dry.

"but i never have thought as rashad boring."

Me neither...Very orthodox boxing style & stance...I like it..He is different, but in no way is he boring. Also a very intelligent fighter.

Two travesties with this thread:

The mentioning of Lindland.

The omission of Severn.

ARONA IS THE KING OF L.A.P !

Come on. Rashad Evans is exciting. I don't know what you retards are talking about. He slammed Bonnar all night and Finished Jason Lambert.

Joe Moreia, Allan Goes

on top level, arona definitely.
he rarely go for KO or subs and mostly wins by takedowns and top position

Jake Shields, Arona, Sean Sherk, old school Gomi

Okay, here's the deal with Rashad. Yes, he's fun to watch. He boxes like a bobblehead, and he's got great takedown slams.

But the reason we get to see all this is that he's the ultimate lay-and-prayer: he does NOTHING in guard, so he gets stood up by the ref almost immediately, and that leads to another brief spurt of action before he winds up in guard again.

If Rashad made even the slightest effort to work from the guard, the refs would be much slower to stand him up, and his fights would be excruciatingly dull.
