well there's a lot of shit you obviously don't know then. let's see ggg stay at the top for 10+ years. mayweather had a lot of finishes early in his career too. mayweather trains like no one in the sport, especially no one with the talent he has, and griffin lives in the same city so he knows. mayweather is a fucking monster.

we'll throw out large and ugly, and stick to frightening. when you train for a high level fight, you want aaaaanyone besides mayweather. because you stand a much better chance of beating anyone else. and if mayweather was relegated to only fighting the same guys ggg has been fighting (not at all saying they're cans), he'd have a much higher finishing rate too.
mayweather's gonna beat you up, in a sport where you get brain damage when you get beat up. he's gonna beat everyone up except other all time greats. if ggg could do what mayweather did but worse, if he could stay on top as long as floyd but he's just squeaking by, barely winning close fights, his reputation would improve in a historical sense.
20 years from now, ggg will most likely be just another hard puncher. mayweather is an all time great, and he's going to beat anyone you put in front of him, and both of you know it going into it. he's a monster. to you, monster means a boxer with knockout punches, but as someone who's entertained the idea of fighting professionally, mayweather/sugar ray robinson/kid chocolate/henry armstrong are who you fear. the guys who have beaten everyone. they're goro in mortal kombat 1, sitting on top a throne of skulls made up of the best fighters of their generation who tried their hardest, invested themselves 100% emotionally in winning, and still lost.
that's a monster. not some dude who's at a much lower level, but happens to have more exciting fights. if it's a street fight, he's out cold ko'ing whoever he fights. if you're a pro fighter, you've already accepted losing is really bad and you're gonna literally get a little depressed and shit, and you'd much rather take a fight against the guy you stand a much better chance against, but if you lose you're gonna go out for a second, rather than the guy you're pretty much guaranteed to lose against.
