It's been a couple of years, but I trained down there at Carlson's place in Rio three times. Great experience and the fighters were awesome and treated me well!

+ the girls on the beach were so freaking hot.

* You can find whatever you want at HELP and if you've been to Rio you know what I mean.

You'd probably be better off getting info from guys that moved there and lived for a few years at least . Guys that just gone down there to train a couple times for a week here week there dont know anything

Where you from? I train with Travis every few weeks and yes hes BJJ is off the charts.

I agree BUFFGEO, but I'm trying to get both perspectives. Not everyone can stay that long.

I myself lived there for almost 4 years, and now return couple times a year. (in fact I go back this Thursday, yippie!!!!).

Been down about 6 times and my wife's family is from Bahia.

We head down every year and will be guying a vacation / early retirement home there soon.

Look forward to it Furacao. What part of Bahia? I plan on doing the retirment thing there too. I'm trying to set up my work schedule so i can spend 6 months a year here...and the other 6 there.

jahz - My girl is from Salvador / Bahia.

I also trained and competed with Brazilian Top Team at the Mundials in 2004. Got a chance to actually train in Rocinha - amazing experience!
