Grizzly bears in African Savannah

How would grizzly bears fare in the African Savannah?

wouldn't it be too hot for them?

6 months sprawl training and they'd dominate.

Not long, those are all pack hunters out there. One bad mofo will get swarmed by 5 or 6 almost as bad mofos and that's all she wrote.

Well I think they rely mainly on their ability to intimidate every other animal in their natural habitat and that would not be so prevalent on the savannah. Nearly every other predator there is more agile and operates in groups. Even non predatory animals such as elephants and hippos could take down a bear.

My final assessment is that the bear would not fair so well.

historically Grizzly bear range went right down to Mexico

Grizzlies would be able to fuck up all predators on the continent.

Elephants might be too big but I'd love to see it.

If bears were suddenly in africa, could easily survive in that climate and hunted in packs, they would dominate.

How many grizzlies to take down an elephant? Giraffe?

A pack of grizzly bears is the scariest thing I've heard of in a long time.

They'd steal kills from hyenas

but thirst would get them in the dry season

think a grizzly would do well against the other mammals, but the heat and parasites would take it out.

they're bigger than most of the predators

If it took place in the water.

They are not made to live under those circumstances. But if they were for the sake of this scenario...

I think they would fare pretty well once they adapt to living in a pack. Africa is not made for mammals as big as a bear to be lone wolves. If they go solo they will eventually get hunted down by a pack of 6-7 predators.

The bear gets fucked up if its close to the water.

There is no animal, apart from a hippo, that I would side with if it was against a crocodile inside water.

It its outside or in the shore, croc would probably get it's shit pushed in.

Lions don't have a lot of protection, and that's going to play a big part in how a bigger bear could shit stomp a smaller group of lions.

Just look at this shit.

A bigger group of lions will simply tire any single animal out, but I like a bear's chances with less than 7.

Also, the thick ass fur and their sheer size of their limbs and areas that lions like to attack(neck etc) gives them a significant advantage.

Neither would be real threats to grizzlies.

A loin pride vs a grizzly pride = lion buffet!
