I wonder if UFC could promote something like GSP vs Khabib under ADCC rules on Fight Pass and get some of their casual fan base interested and make the match massive globally?
Wrestling, BJJ and ADCC events are not known for their huge global ratings but with the right names, the right legends, you wonder if UFC could promote grappling matches between legends that would manage to attract the casuals the way these Floyd exhibitions and Paul Bros fights are.

Not really if they have any kicking skills since that would be all it takes. I think the triad combat thing was a pretty decent middle ground.
Seems like a happy medium. Boxers are athletic so shouldn’t have a problem learning kicks and some kick defense. Just changes the range of the fight entirely

Most of these fights are MMA guys trying to call out a guy with a big name. Any guy with a big name in boxing doesn’t need that fight and obviously MMA is just leagues more difficult than boxing overall.l so they aren’t going to just lead themselves to the slaughter.
I know lots of people love this shit but I have almost no interest in it. Wanting to see MMA vs boxing with elbows or kicks something means you just want to see some boxer get wrecked.
I understand that, but it’s not for me. I just don’t have a desire to see someone lacking a pivotal skill getting ruined by someone who isn’t. There’s zero intrigue in that.
It’s always been weird to me that it’s common sense that boxing is a specific sport and when it comes to a real fight 98% of high level boxers will get crushed by their high level MMA peers. Everybody knows this but MMA as a whole has some weird insecurity where both fans and fighters always feel they need to prove themselves and prove this known reality for some reason.
