GSP current P4P #1

eljamaiquino - He is dominating, but a p4p#1 should be finishing opponents IMO. If you go by decisions, then Jake Shields should be up there too...

Shields' best wins at 170 are barely in top 10 (Daley/Kampmann). GSP has cleaned out the division. THe Kampmann fight was a joke, SHields barely beat him, and Kampmann didnt even try to win that fight

MaliceX -
Nicknitro - GSP is P4P the best fighter right now.

No doubt about it

yep

and lol @ the tool on this thread criticizing GSP for a 'jabathon'. He fought a smart and effective fight. He wins fights in different ways. He stopped a Division 1 NCAA wrestling stud from taking him down and scored a few for himself in the process. You have no idea what youre talking about.

True, but Shields also beat a Pride 185 and 205 champ in Dan Henderson, and beat Yushin Okami. When a guy who fights at 170 beats a 205 champ, that has to put some cred on his p4p standing...

lol @ being number 1 and not finishing anyone

GaGas Soldier - lol @ being number 1 and not finishing anyone
lol @ finishing a fight being a relevant factor in the evaluation of a fighter's skills or dominant, one-sided performances.

He doesn't finish his opponents so he is not the best P4P. Jose Aldo is.

lol at the stupidity of this comment. How is finishing fights not relevant to the sport of fighting? Idiotic to say the least

Everyone has an opinion I think GSP is #1 but I know a lot think silva is too. Aldo is up there too just not enough recognition yet. I hopr to ser silva vs GSP and then it can be answered Phone Post

GSP is #1, fitch has pretty much cleaned up the ww division and there is such a huge gap between GSP and Fitch, in no other division is there a bigger gap between #1 and #2...

It wont be answered. GSP will dominate Silva then people will say Aldo is p4p #1 because he finishes. Fuck finishing if you're competing against top level guys and are making them look like they haven't fought before. And to the guy that said Shields should be ranked p4p, I agree. So should Fitch. Here is my list.

1. GSP
2. Aldo
3. Silva
4. Edgar
5. Cain
6. Dominick Cruz
7. Shogun

Yep, been saying it for awhile. Not only is he the best at 170, but I'd put money on him against most 185ers, including Anderson.

everyone gets by the relative weakness of their division. Welterweight has been at the top for a long, long, while.

any other champion would have lost to a koscheck (or alves, or fitch, or penn) counterpart.

Mother . . . fucking . . . FACT.

GSP fighting anderson would nto end the P4P debate. If anderson wins, which in all likelihood he would, it means he was able to beat a guy much smaller than him. P4P is about whos fighting style is the best, anderson got exposed big time by Chael as having a very incomplete game, thus hes not p4p the best.

^^ your retarded how is gsp smaller then Anderson silva if it's p4p gtfo retard Phone Post

No doubt he is. Phone Post

Intelligence... Try to get some Phone Post

Still think P4P is Aldo , St.Pierre is def making a case for it though

Aldo is crazy good, but hasnt really been champ a long time. Hes clearly top 3-4 but should face a couple more top guys before he reaches the top
