GSP: I don't care what Diaz is going to try to do

"This is the fight that everyone wants to see," St-Pierre said. "All the fans want to see it. It's a fight that he wants. It's a fight that I want, and I think it's going to make the best version of me come out for the fight."

So perhaps it's not quite the personal mission we've been led to believe. Diaz's rants seem to have struck a nerve with St-Pierre, but if that's the case, the champ isn't willing to acknowledge it. From his point of view, Diaz is simply the next guy in line.

"All fights are very, very important," St-Pierre said. "It's a very, very tough fight for me. But they're all very important.

"I believe everybody I fight has great things about them. They're the best in the world at what they do. I think the same thing here, but I don't care what Diaz is going to try to do to me. I care about I'm going to try to do to him. That's what's going to happen on March 16."

And just exactly what is he looking to do?

"The perfect scenario would be 'GSP' victory via flying armbar 10 seconds into the fight," St-Pierre said with a laugh. "That would be awesome."

Not a very big fan of GSP, but he won't have any trouble with Diaz. Outclasses him in every aspect of MMA.

The middle fingers of NickDiaz - So you don't care if he slaps the shit out of you mid-fight in front of THOUSANDS of people?

It'll be interesting seeing Diaz slap GSP when he's on his back.

Man I hope Diaz slaps him at the weigh ins. It would make the fight ALOT more interdasting. Phone Post

Can't wait to see Nick chain together submission attempts

And each round ends with Georges on top of Nick beating him up while whispering "if there wasn't an audience, I could rape you right now."

Diaz will be 7-6 in the UFC after Sat.....He may retire again......

Lol at "do do this". Woops.  You're outgunned here.  Your heart has led you into a battle you cannot win. Logic is on my side.

GSP made the mistake of underestimating his opponent once, and got knocked out.  He will never do it again.  He is the most calculating, stoic, and composed athlete in MMA.  If Diaz beats him, it will be because Diaz is the better man that night and not because Georges was ill-prepared.

Georges neutralizes his opponents.  He outstruck Thiago Alves, outwrestled Josh Koscheck, and made a warrior like BJ Penn quit.

Nick is an excellent opponent, but nothing Georges hasn't seen before and certainly nothing he can't handle.  GSP's top control is too much, and Diaz won't be able to consistently get up from bottom, threaten with submissions, or initiate scrambles.  Diaz's boxing is a volume-centric, and he won't be able to get that going when he will be taken down at will.

GSP via ref stoppage due to cuts 4th round.

There is NO way diaz defends the takedown or submits George.

RobinVanRooney -

Diaz lands a devastating hook which rocks George, George backs against the cage while Diaz tees off on George's abdomen.

St Pierre cowers to the ground and Diaz wins Via submission due to strikes in the 3rd rd. Phone Post

Sorry, this isn't Strikeforce and Nicks not rematching Scott Smith, Zaromskis or Thomas Denny.. Not gonna happen.

Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with beating WW's ranked in the area of say, 50-100... I'm just thinking maaaayyybe Nicks had a fairly easy go of it opponent wise in comparison?

On the other hand, had Nick been fighting a steady diet of top 3 ranked fighters and GSP was fighting guys who never even sniffed the top 20 let alone the top 3... Pretty certain Georges would have 4-5 more finishes while Nick would be in the 21-13 range record wise with 4-5 more losses.

Thiago Alves, Carlos Condit, Josh Koscheck x2, John Fitch... all beaten easily by Georges, yet... at the time of the fights, all of them most likely beat Diaz. Could also add Hughes and Serra of 07 and maybe even Dan Hardy and Shields.

lol Nick could have a .500 record by now having fought that list of #1 - #2 contenders!!

This will prove to be GSP's easiest title defense since the Serra rematch, IMO.

Any of you Diaz fans wanna paypal bet?

No way GSP would risk going for a flying armbar. lol He's too concerned with control and safety these days to demonstrate whatever finishing skills he has left these days. I really can't see him ending the fight early via anything except the small possibility of a cut. It'll be a 50-45 UD, extending the longest decision streak by any champion in UFC history - 2 and a half hours of cage time without a finish.

I have visions of GSP vs Serra 2. just a brutal ass kicking.

FormrChamp - Not a very big fan of GSP, but he won't have any trouble with Diaz. Outclasses him in every aspect of MMA.

I think GSP will win by a 50-45 decision but clearly he does not outclass Diaz in every aspect of MMA. If he did he would finish Diaz. Diaz has a better BJJ game and perhaps a little better striking. GSP does outclass Diaz in the wrestling & control aspect though by a wide margin and that's all that is going to matter.
