IMO, GSP barely wins a VERY boring 5 round fight. Machida stuffs all GSP takedowns attempts. GSP avoids the big shots by Machida and eventually just outpoints him by landing a few more jabs. The only real loser is the fans. That's how I see it.

I can't see GSP landing jabs on Machida without getting massively countered. Nobody really jabs Machida, he's just never in punching range.

Plus his footwork is spectacular so he's tricky to even shoot on.

This is interesting because both guys are masters at generalship or controlling the distance but with GSP being more offensive in closing the distance, Machida being more the counter guy...until the other night, that is. There is quite a bit of size difference though. You put GSP vs any of the top MWs and you'll see that.
But hopefully we'll see Weidman vs Machida which is similar in some respects, Weidman is like the MW GSP being so versatile. Weidman will probably be noticeably bigger than Machida too.

Machida is noticeably smaller than he was at lhw. I wouldn't be surprised if he was something like 195 in the cage. saw a pic of him at 192, maybe 2 or 3 days before weigh ins
But he also said he went on a strict diet to make mw which was kinda surprising
