GSP is normal sized at WW....why would he go up to MW against the champ?
Jon Jones would makes sense moving up, as he currently has the greatest reach in the UFC, but otherwise this stuff is pretty dumb....
They are in different weight classes you idiot, it's not ducking
The OP made me lol good humour writing, and absolutely true.
It's funny how BJ Penn has to come up in weight classes to fight GSP, but GSP is too afraid to go up in weight class.
Hansumboy - Jones could get knocked out against Rampage and that changes everything. Remember how everyone thought Machida was invincible before he fought Shogun? A fighter needs to defend to belt a few times to really prove his worth.
I agree 100%, and if you are the lower weight class fighter looking for a "challenge" then fighting UP a weight class against a guy less proven than you is smart and worth a ton of money. Fighting a guy who has dominated his higher weight class the way you did your lower one, is dumb, at least for the smaller guy it is.
GSP is waiting for Anderson to lose making him the default p4p best. GSP has been playing the odds... The probablitiy of Anderson staying undefeated this long in the UFC is unbelievably low and GSP was playing the probabilities.
You are a fucking moron,
caliphornia -Ummmm.. Don't even get started Cali. Where do you people come from? Silva would KTFO of GSP. GSP's TD's wouldn't save him, nor would his jab. If he does stand a chance it's because of his athleticism. But, that's not the real subject. The subject is weight class. Some people can be succesful in 2 weight classes because of style difference, build, and experience/. When you reach the highest level, and when there's such a weight difference, the fight should not happen. Have you seen Silva call out Jones?Immaculata - Ummm you idiot, they're in different weight classes. If anything Silvas next fight should be against JJ. Or if they want to make a competitive MW fight, Shogun could move down. You acutally made a thread about this?? A newb maybe, but, come on....Um, if anything it should be against gsp not jones. Jones doesn't deserve Anderson. Shit, he hadn't even defended a belt yet.
GSP and Anderson needs to happen because they have both defended their belts for years and years.
Dana knows what's up. That's why he just said Gsp vs Anderson makes sense now.
Needlehammer, you idiot, this is a fight that's has been talked about for years.
And GSP is ducking. Does Penn/Hughes mean ANYTHING to you?
STFU
But let's be realistic...
GSP fighting Anderson at 185 is unfair and he shouldnt be expetced to... So it's not really ducking. The same way Anderson fighting Jones at 205 would be unfair. That's not ducking. They are in completely different weight classes.
GSP is terrified of Anderson, he wouldnt take the fight for all the money in the world. He's lucky Dana saved his ass by bringing Nick Diaz across, because he's running out of excuses for his continued dicktucking.

Sometimes I wonder how people get through life without basic logic and reasoning skills..........
A guy "ducks" by not fighting a guy much bigger than he is in a higher weight class.....?
Who cares about that fight now.
Here is the man that will gladly fight Anderson.
Anderson is 36. The fight needs to happen this year.
Assuming Jones handles Rampage, (spoiler: he will) imagine this headlining the New Years or Super Bowl card.

Guys come on, give GSP a break already. He already told us he's only thinking about his current opponent and no one else. After the fight he will sit down with his team, his coaches and his sponsors and they'll see if it's worth while to make the move to 185. They'll need to, take time off in order to properly put on the weight, since he would never do steroids and then at that time decide if the Anderson fight is in the cards. Seems reasonable, why can't you all accept this excuplanation and leave it at that?
MMALOGIC - But let's be realistic...

Simple. Inarguable. Voted up.
Yes, clearly it's ducking when the other person is in another weight class and neither of them have even called each other out. Sure.
OP, are you retarded ?
GSP as constantly said he wants to the greatest fighter ever in MMA, and to do that he knows he has to fight in more than one division. HE HAS SAID THIS HIMSELF. Surely the best way to become the greatest ever, as he has said he wants to be, would be to fight the current greatest ever. So why does he continue to fight anybody but Anderson?
Anderson is ducking American college wrestlers.
Silva should NEVER be interested in fighting gsp... That would just be retarded!
When you own your division why the fuck would you want to fight the LOWER weight guy??? that wouldnt do shit
Now, GSP would want the fight because it benefits him... but kicking GSP's ass (which is exactly what would happen)does absolutely nothing for Silva
Apparently many people have no clue what the term "ducking" actually means.
Just because I want to see Jose Aldo fight Brock Lesnar for my own selfish curiosity doesn't mean Aldo is a bitch for not wanting the same for his own career and legacy.
And I'm only being partially sarcastic about that matchup, either. Aldo's speed and Brock's suspect chin would make it an interesting matchup. Would Brock toss Aldo up and over the fence? Would Aldo chop down Brock's legs like Ruas-Varlens?
GSP is a mid-sized WW (Fitch, Alves and Hardy were all bigger and Kos and Shields were about same size) and Silva (Only Forrest was bigger) is one of the biggest MWs. Who should move up?? Right now, there is a weight difference of 15-20 pounds.
