I think part of how shite this fight was had to do with GSP struggling with Shield's length.

Anderson had hurt ribs before the fight. GSP's eye was messed up because Jake Shields was punching him in the eye. Chael took major shots to get the takedown. GSP won't be willing to take those kinds of shots...
GSP was owning him until losing his eye sight.
Shields is the same guy that beat Henderson and took his worst shots.
Styles makes fights. Shields could not take GSP down once.
Obviously GSP will not stand with Anderson.

bmd - I like how everybody says Anderson would destroy GSP... umm... what short memories you guys have. Just 2 fights ago, Anderson was getting DESTROYED by Chael Sonnen. DESTROYED.
GSP didn't have the best performance, but he didn't get destroyed. He won the majority of the fight, which got him the decision.
Anderson was losing 99% of the 24 minute fight.
Plus, styles make fights. GSP would take Anderson down like Chael did. Personally, I know GSP would do this, but even if you don't personally think that, you have to at least acknowledge that GSP has a huge advantage in that area, just like Anderson has a huge advantage against GSP in the striking.
So in conclusion, a fight with Anderson could go 1 of 2 ways: Anderson can stop the takedowns and light GSP up on the feet, or GSP can take him down and dominate Anderson. There is only one way to find out, but to say GSP would for sure get knocked out is ignorant at best, and idiotic and foolish at worst.
If you think having a close striking match with Jake Shields is similar to getting outwrestled by olympic alternate Chael Sonnen I have no idea what to tell you.
