I don't get how Hardy brokey out of it, didn't GSP just let go?
IS there a gif that shows it, because it looked like GSP just let go...
IIRC hardy was about to reverse into a straight armbar
Mike Sanders - IIRC hardy was about to reverse into a straight armbar
nice
It was from half guard.
my first thought was why'd he let go, and the rogan said how he powered out, and I went yeah right..... gsp let go for some reason, just dont know why.... lost grip?
I thought GSP had gotten all the extension he could from is positioning - gave it one last give/take/push/pull crank to no success - and let it go.
GSP wouldn't break someones arm.
He knows its a sport.
^ GSP is an athlete first!
When he had that thing sunk I was like
hahaha, yeah that was pretty much the face I made.
So know one else thought he let it go?
I just don't buy that Hardy powered out of it.
Does anyone else think that GSP wasn't applying the kimura or armbar properly? With the armbar he seemed to have the thumb pointing down, it's meant to point to the sky right? The kimura looked a bit off as well. Maybe I'm wrong but I think that they looked worse than they were.
Ok, here's submission fighting 101....actually to be fair to you noobs it's probably 103:
GSP was in Hardy's 1/2 guard when he was trying to put on the kimura (1/2 guard means that one of your legs is caught between your opponents legs)
You can't finish a kimura properly when you are caught in someone's 1/2 guard.
Thank you.

if he couldve stepped out, i think he wouldve gotten the leverage necessary, i also think he let go
He let it go.
there was a moment he tried to break it with a quick explosion
he said he heard a pop...
no tap

No shit he let it go. Hardy wasn't tapping and he had to find another way to finish the fight.
i was there live( if u dont believe me ill take a pic and load my ticket)
the kimura wasnt as bad as it looked, and McGee is right also the armbar gsp didn't pinch his legs in and Hardy just didnt wanna tap.
GSP isnt the the type of person to break a limb , he said him self. he has respect and doesnt want to ruin a fighter career.
that being said i was rooting for Hardy(yes idgaf what u people say) i wasnt shocked that GSP took him down 11 times, its just GSP BJJ isnt that great IMO he still has flaws( hes a great athlete and person/fighter) just his BJJ is his soft point
ttt
GSP clearly let go of the kimura. IMO he decided that it wasnt worth the energy to try and finish it. He made the safe play and let go. Didnt want to gas trying for the kimura, then open the door to lose.
I only get to see fights once, but it looked like most of the pressure could have been applied above the elbow closer to the tricep on the armbar attempt & yes he let the kimura go.
