not for football. I was lifting close to 300 in high school. And there were 7-8 dudes stronger than me. You figure 4 years of college. Should be lifting well into three hundred range.
It was weird some of those guys worked out just as hard and just as frequent. Never gained.
Balance and the ability to execute force is very important in grappling, as is odd angle pushing. It doesn’t always translate in the gym
