Draeger was an amazing character, his office at the East-West Center is actually right around the corner from my house, here in Honolulu. There are many stories of him lining up dan ranking guys at the Kodokan and sailing through them, and he was also a major pioneer in the field of sports preparation, incorporating resistance training into judo training.
It would be a huge contribution if a good book was written about his life.
Yeah I heard he was a great athlete.
