In the history of ZUFFA, most title contenders that do pathetic against the champion are on the cutting block shortly thereafter.

Yuki Kondo - Choked out by Ortiz, cut immediately afterward (eventually resigned, and then cut again)

Vladimir Matyushenko - Loses in the most boring UFC fight ever. Cut immediately after (eventually resigned, cut, and then resigned)

Travis Lutter - Submitted with ease. Cut one fight later.

Thales Leites - Does nothing against Silva, is cut one fight later.

Shane Carwin - Gasses after one round. Choked out by a fighter who isn't ranked in jiu-jitsu.

Dana, please let Shane go to Strikeforce and try and build back up some wins. He can't cut it here right now.
