Known it for a while now, not many jobs out there that pay as well as it without a degree though, I still have time to go to school but not the funds if I quit. Have to be there in about an hour and it hits me like a sack of bricks every time I go.
Starting to realize a degree is required if I ever plan on being happy at work. Stay in school kids!
What do you do?

but im 50 years old
Why not keep working and get a degree at night or online? Your company might help pay for it.
I'm a conductor on the railroad. Great paying job. But you get no time with family, the company fucks you 24/7 and everything is always up in the air. You never know when you're working. Retirement is phenomenal as well. Just don't know if I can handle it for 30 years.

In for stories and hopefully more glorious work from ManOfThePeepHole.
Me too but I retire in15years at the rip old age of 50.
That's what keeps me going.
A big thing that has been grinding me lately with them is the won't offer family medical leave for my brother in law because he isn't "direct family" guy has brain cancer and isn't expected to live long and he is the closest thing to an actual brother I've ever had. To be told I wasn't allow to take work off to be with him when he needs it was my breaking point. Yet here I am, tying my boots and walking out the door again.
