Before you guys rip me apart, I want you to know I fall in the 'love the sport enough to tolerate it' category. I made my account for 2 reasons, first to voice my opinion on Dana and the UfC marketing, and to also have a place to talk about MMA, a sport I love.
Faber has deserved this title shot. The guy has beaten everyone in his division except for the current champ and he has a victory over the former champ.

I will be watching the card tonight but I blame several things.
A. I am not excited about who they are fighting. I feel like Faber is falling into the Rich Franklin category of constantly being shilled by Zuffa. I think he is a good fighter, but the guy seems to keep getting title shots. I don't really know anything about Jose Aldos opponent.
B. The UFC has hardly sold Barao who is mentally super tough and some amazing finishes. I think the same could be said for Barao as well.
C. I might take some flak for this. But it seems like the UFC matchmakers like to have constant top two guys with perfect records fight each other for title shots. I think that sometimes this makes sense. But sometimes it also makes sense to let these guys fight the top guy without facing each other. That way we get some face recognition and the momentum is not lost.
Faber's title shot is 100% deserved, the dude has destroyed everyone but barao, i actually think this fight will be much more competitive than the first
People have to stop blaming Faber and making it his fault for the title fights 99% of the fighters on the roster want title fights at all time and would take them regardless of rankings. He also fights in smaller divisions, the UFC wanting him to be champ has ZERO fault to be thrown on Faber. I get that people are all bothered by his fortune but it's the UFC's to grant.

I don't blame Faber, seems like a nice guy. I enjoy watching his fights.
"constantly being shilled by Zuffa" does not equate into is a bad person or fighter. Dude has a sick guillotine and I am exciting to see what Bang has done with them. Just addressing the questions in the article.
