Saving up money for our first house in new england end of next year and just was wondering if there was any renters 4 life out there?
I'm assuming places like NYC you don't have much choice but ever feel like you're missing something or do you prefer it? 
What are you looking to spend? What percent of your income do you want to blow on your house?
You'll be fixing the god damn thing till you die just an FYI for ya. It's worth it not to share walls with people though.
300 - 420k is what we are targeting for a starter house.
Mortgage will probably be around 2200/month which isn't bad based on my income.
I haven't. I have plenty put aside to buy if I choose to. I'm sure I will someday, but renting is cheaper where I live.
Even if I didn't have a mortgage payment, the taxes, insurance, utilities, maintenance/repairs would cost more than I pay for rent/utilities now. Plus, I'd have to buy furniture and crap to put in it.
I'm in my 30's and earn a high income.
I also like the flexibility of being able to uproot and move anytime I want. It specifically gives me a lot of flexibility with my career and choice of employer.

Been renting a condo for 7 years. Just bought a duplex in a really nice area out of town. Rent was going up and up and I was getting more annoyed at lining someone else's pockets. So we finally took the plunge and decided to buy. Could have bought the place we rent but condo fees are getting crazy and think I need to get out of the city a bit so decided on a house
