Based on what I read here, the majority of mma fans just can't get enough of it, despite the quality. They will tune in no matter who coaches. This will also bring in new fans. Smart move here and Mayhem may do some funny things.

Any reasoning for either of those statements or is it just jealousy? Can't stand to see someone in MMA actually make money outside of fighting? Does that offend your rules on what makes a fighter? We all know how important it is that an 11er approves of a fighter....
going to be a very highly rated season. mayhem as tv followers, will be interesting to see if he can give any tuf plugs while hosting bully beatdown seeing how they are in contract with bellator.. im stoked to see though, at least there will be some personalities!

Agreed. I made a thread about this (how Mayhem is a serious crossover star_ but I got shat on by all the marketing geniuses here on the UG. The only problem is Mayhem or Bisping getting a title shot for this.

If having Mayhem and Bisping run you off then you aren't a "real" MMA fan to begin with. I will watch ANYTHING that is MMA related even if it's people I have never heard of. I don't just pay attn to UFC or Strikeforce because of the big names and call myself a "real" MMA fan. I love this sport no matter who is fighting, some of the best fights I have ever seen were no name guys fighting in local shows. So if you don't want to watch TUF because of who is on it then don't, enjoy watching American Idol or dancing with the stars or some shit! 
tuf made the ufc as big as it is with coaches like chuck, randy, rich and hughes. not mtv and WWE characters.

Have to protect the integrity of the show. Better to have an 0-1 in the UFC coach than a guy who is 0-2 I guess.

Two credible, marketable fighters that have a following and are very outspoken is perfect for the SPIKE/TUF crowd. I'd rather see GSP vs Diaz myself but I can see why this makes sense to ZUFFA and SPIKE...
Mayhem and Bisping are perfect as opposing coaches on a REALITY TV SHOW.
Whether they are the best fighters or deserve the title shot for winning is not the question but rather the chances they can turn around a flagging franchise.
IMO, there aren't many better candidates for that.
