...maybe #4 in pushing the cause of MMA in America.#1.UFC#2.Spike TV#3.HDNET#4.Kimbo.What do you think is the biggest reason in the last couple of years?Wait I forgot about Affliction sponsoring fighters, that has to be in the running.
Thank you Time Warner for raping me of the best channel for MMA =)
I'd say Xyience sponsored more fighters than Affliciton. UFC fighters always said if they get connected with Xyience "they're in".
What happened to them? Make millions and bail? Or did the UFC just use them when they needed them? Afterall The Ultimate Fighter (sponcored by Xyience) saved Mixed Martial Arts right?
What was cool was when HDnet got on a roll where they were showing an average of an event a week, a lot of them were regional B-shows, but it was great to watch up and comers from various parts of the US and Canada besides of course the A-level Japanese shows and MaxFighting. Now they dropped some shows, and they can go a month and a half with no live MMA at all.
VectorWega - Time Warner is #4 in destroying MMA. Behind #1 Gary Millen, #2 Gary Shaw, #3 Yamma

fucka Time Warner... switch to AT&T U Verse...

I though it has been a while since they have showed live events. I mean outside of Dream and Sengoku, I can't remember the last time I saw a live event on HDnet. I don't have the channel anymore but good to know im not missing shit....
...I would get it just for Dream

They dont show Adrenaline MMA anymore. Did they air some live Strikeforce for awhile? As far as I can tell they dont air SportFight anymore, or maybe sportfight hasnt had a show in a long, long time? Its weird because it looked like they were building to like 50 live shows a year. Then suddenly it got cut way down. I guess there were some negotiations that didnt go well.
They have the Affliction prelims, which is very cool, but obviously Affliction events are very spread out. They have Dream, Sengoku,Maximum Fighting and XFC is the regional show they have left. So most of the events they do have are fucking awesome, but then there will be this gap with nothing. Its basically the two Japanese promotions that make HDnet relevent and worthwhile at this point.
Yeah if HDnet was still available through my provider, Time Warner, I would still have purchased the channel for Dream and Sengoku alone. It has also turned me on to K-1, I was never a fan, or should I say, I never had the chance, to watch any K-1 until HDnet started airing them. Pretty damn cool network....for instance, I'm missing "Inside MMA" right now.
