The UFC has released five fighters from their contracts with the company. Most noteworth amongst the cuts were Pat Healy and TUF 16 winner Colton Smith. Bummed out on a personal level about Smith, because he is truly a great guy, but opportunities will arise for him outside the promotion where he can continue to sharpen his skills and it wouldn't shock me to see him brought back in due time. Healy I think is a lock for Bellator. Also released were Estevan Payan, Dave Galera and TUF The Nations cast member Chris Indich.

I could actually see Colton in WSOF or maybe Legacy. Healy to Bellator seems logical. Payan signed with RITC here in Arizona, but could wind up being a Bellator signing.

He needs a broke Fitch mode that lets him brawl rather than lay for desperate neutralizing. I got over the fake glove touch thing but he really needed to evolve fast like Gastelum had to and just didn't. Maybe someone like Chael as a coach would have done him good, look what Chael helped Gastelum do in a VERY short amount of time with his VERY raw talent.
I know TV and event commitments prevent this from happening but they should cut about 250 more fighters from their bloated roaster.

Wilks won a fight after the finale, he just retired after the loss in England to go teach.
Lutter had the least fights after winning, two straight including the missing weight against Silva and gone.

Healy pissing hot was the catalyst of his downward momentum. I feel for the guy. He is tough. Hopefully Bellator snags him.

- I meant to say if he's staying at 145 I'd like to fight him. But I'm walking around at about 175 right now so maybe 155 isn't such a bad idea lol
