Heavy Bag - Filling Tips?

I'm in the process of brutalising my heavy bag and the filling is starting to compact towards the middle/bottom.

This is leaving the top part a little saggy and lacking resistance from my explosive dome shots.

What do you guys use to keep your bag full?

Aside from not busting your nut... Phone Post 3.0

Just stuff it with some of your McGregor posters. I'm sure you'll have plenty left

That's from the bag being hung in the air for a while and the filling or sand going to the bottom of the bag. Pretty sure that has nothing to do with justsaying your bag everyday. I don't have any advice my bag is like that but I just kick it still Phone Post 3.0

Yeah it's hung up permanently, Gravity is a devil. Combined with my savage attacks the bag had no chance of remaining firm. Phone Post 3.0

Wouldn't dream of it, I use them to decorate my house and car. Phone Post 3.0

Then dat will go to the bottomz! Phone Post 3.0

I used to unhook mine after every second day and lean it against the wall upside down when not in use.

The fucking straps it hangs from just broke the other day, it sucks Phone Post 3.0

Not if it's full. There's only so much room that can be filled, right? Phone Post 3.0

Had the same problem until I got a 120 lb everlast bag. I used to throw a lot of hard round kicks from both legs on the lower and mid areas that were compacted. Not really a solution but my shins are noticeably tougher.

Through gravity and strikes the filling compresses leaving space at the top.

I'm asking what folk use to top them up with? Phone Post 3.0

I've got a 150lb bag and mines still sunk.

You're right though the bottom half is ultra compact making it ideal for kicking.

Just annoys me when I'm smashing the 'head' region and it's all soft. I want to top it up and I'm seeking recommendations on material. Phone Post 3.0

^Sorry, just checked, it's only 80lb!! Thought it was 70kg...

Where did you get your bag from/cost? Phone Post 3.0

ive heard some people filling them with water instead of sand / dry materials to stop them compacting

Not sure that would work, mines got a zip top, doubt its water resistant.

Could fill it with pigs blood so it spurts out when I smash it :D Phone Post 3.0

Old denim works great. Check a salvation army and buy some huge jeans, cut em into squares and stuff it up Phone Post 3.0
