Hector Lombard: "Think I Have To Change My Game

After UFC on FUEL TV Loss, Hector Lombard Says “I Think I Have To Change My Game”, “These Guys Don’t Want To Stand Up With Me”

“I always just focus on KOs, and I forgot about that I wasn’t in a stand-up fight,” Lombard said. “It was a MMA fight.”

It would serve him well to remember the latter.

But really he should he should "change his game" not because guys "dont want to stand up" with him, but because most elite guys are not going to just stand in front of him and exchange, especially not now that he's shown an aversion to adapting when you take him out of his comfort zome. He's often pretty flatfooted and employs a lying-in-wait counter-punching style that almost begs to be out game planned. If he could get his feet moving and show a more diversified attack and throw that extreme power he has from a wider variety of positions he'd be much more difficult to deal with.

The funny thing is that the reason his stand-up looks so dangerous is BECAUSE he is fighting MMA guys. If he was fighting K-1, those little hands and feet wouldn't reach the top level of the sport.

Someone is gonna avoid your most dangerous skill?

How come no one ever thought of this, before Hector came around???

This could revolutionize the sport!

Hector will be fine. He will put it all together once he forgets all that "big show" bs. Phone Post

I'm not ready to talk about this, memory's from the hype train crash still burn Phone Post

He needs more cardio work imo

Yeah, a more little cardio could go a long way for him. He did pretty well against okami for how good okami is, but he just didn't seem like the complete package. Phone Post

Yeah, his style is actually built to beat grapplers. Okami beat him in the striking with just a jab for 2 rounds too.
