I’ve been suffering with lower back tight muscles for maybe 3 years. Specific area being where the Dimples of Venus are, and around to the side Glutes.
I do a light stretch before every workout and a more dynamic post weights specific for my back and hamstrings.
My abs and core are strong. Mma 3xweek with ab work. Hanging leg raises past 90 to 45 degrees for at least 20 before I burn out per set. Dragonfly abs with only shoulder blades touching.
I have even stopped doing Stronglifts 5x5 to see if that helps…nothing.
I stand for most of my day instead of sitting at my desk for good posture.
44, 6’0", 190lbs , 11% bf on home electric scale ( I know thats not my true %)
I do UFC 3x week, high level skiing 1 week in winter, 1 week Mtn biking in spring/summer, stronglift compound exercises 2-3 week the days I don’t UFC. And drink like a motherfucker 1x week.
A few things that have helped me...I bought a jigsaw massager (jigsaw massager.com) it is a replacement for a jigsaw blade that beats the fuck out of muscle knots. It is great for the glutes
Sitting at the bottom of a squat for extended periods everyday.
Dead arm hanging from a bar (I actually bought lifting hooks so I could hang without my hands getting fried )
Thanks for the responses so far guys. I do sit in an ass to grass squat with 25lbs a side to fully stretch out. I have also done dead hangs.
I’m thinking maybe a massage therapist, but would like to be educated on what muscles they are and whats causing this. Like I mentioned no pain, no spasms, no sciatica. Just tight all day, everyday. It does loosen up or I dont notice it during workouts. Even after a full kickboxing class including stretching, if i lay down on my back and bring my knees to my chest then turn them to one side, its real tight.

My mobility is SHIT and always has been, even has an active kid it was awful, now Im completely fucked. Everything pops and I feel like Im being crushed in vice. Yesterday at the gym I had a dude trying to spot me on barbell bench (a movement I havent done in 15 years or so) and he says "dude, your mobility is SHIT". It’s my shoulders, hips, wrists, elbows, chest, neck, everything. I dont know what to do either. Stretching has never done a fucking thing for me, I wonder it’s biomechanical, as my spine is slightly crooked.
I found this device from a Tim Ferriss book, it's called a Rumble Roller. It's not one of those pussy rollers that you see at the gym, this shit goes in DEEP. Also provides great relief when kidney stones hit.

Dude, I almost ordered one, is this thing legit? I have a trigger point ball, a nike active recovery ball, some roller balls and a theracane knock off, but have only used a basic foam roller at the gym. They really only do anything to my IT band, not aggressive enough. I wonder how well the rumble roller works?

I recommend it for sure. It's definitely a hardcore device though, and you will feel some wonderful agony when you use it. Tim Ferriss gives a warning in his book, "Warning: Start Slow. I tried to copy Amelia and did 20-plus minutes my first session. The next day, I felt like I'd been put in a sleeping bag and swung against a tree for a few hours."
