About this project
'Through The Eyes Of A Western Man' Follows Alex Montagnani as he and camera crew venture into the unseen Nairobi, Kenya and expose the true extent of the constant suffering which occurs just a stone throw from the country's capital.
Our aim is to create a cutting edge documentary, capturing Alex's journey and personal perspective during his travels into the heart of rural Kenya, assisting ICROSS, an NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation), who began their activities in 1978 and have done amazing work since.
To gain understanding of the general awareness of the issues Kenya are currently facing, we took to the streets of London and asked a few members of the public, what they knew about the ongoing problems in Kenya. Unsurprisingly, the majority of the public knew very little, if anything at all about the true depths of suffering, starvation and malnutrition in Nairobi. Those that did express some understanding had learnt much of what they knew through social media and inaccurate reports. There has been no coverage of the devastation to date.
Alex hopes that this journey will not only open his own eyes to the reality of the tragic suffering, but will also open the eyes of all those who watch this documentary. In doing so, the overall goal is to raise awareness and hopefully incur change. We can all contribute to changing the lives of those living in poverty and famine and it starts at home.
Providing we reach our target, we will be heading out to Nairobi, Kenya mid October.
The £4000 funds we are raising will help supply;
- Flights to Nairobi, Kenya
- Live stock and resources per village we visit
- Production equipment
- Post Production costs
We thank you in advance for your support and any donations made. Together we will begin to make change and hopefully help to save the lives of those in need.
