Ive added mat pilates and yoga to my routine which should help but other than a modified lunge with my arms up (per advice of my chiro) are there any other stretches you guys have found helpful in stretching out your 'psoas?
also if any of you have had issues with yours, how long did it take to get back in balance?
an addition to jka judo's lunge: in order to push your hip forward, put one palm on the top part of the rear buttock and push it forward. (if your right leg is back in the lunge pose, then your right hand pushes the top of the glut/hip bone). at the same time, contract your abs (isoemetric). you will feel a good stretch. there is one more component, but i can't explain it on the net. but this should do.
you can also lie on your back on a table or bench, and let the leg hang over (stretching leg). the other leg you can bring to your chest, or at the very least, bend the non stretching knee and the foot should be flat on the bench. tell me if you need clarification.
