Help Needed From Northern VA UGers…

I'm moving down to Herndon, VA this week for a teaching job and I'm psyched because I get to trane UFC for the first time in my life.

I'm reaching out to any UGers in the area that train or have trained at any BJJ or MMA gyms they can recommend.

Thank you very much for any tips.

WTF! NPD is a NOVA Uger?

There are a lot of option for you in the Northern VA/DC area. Another place you should definitely check out is

That's just what I was thinking!?

Seriously, check out Fairfax Jiu Jitsu/Yamasaki.  It's practically right there and the place is awesome.

Are you a biggin or just a normal size person?

yeah we've got 15? 17? BJJ blackbelts in the Yamasaki family in the DC metro area and many frequently drop by to train (trane).

Awesome, I also teach in FCPS. Come over to Fairfax Jiu Jitsu and try out any of our classes for two weeks free.

5'11" and walk around at 150 lbs. Stayed in decent shape since I stopped playing hockey so I'm pretty long and lean. Phone Post

Very cool, sir. I'm moving into the Met on Tuesday and have about a week until training starts. I'm gonna buy a bed and check some of these places out starting with FJJ. Phone Post

Watch you mouth talk about Pat Tray, fren. That dude is as legit as they come, i am a black belt now and he was kicking my ass and making me want to cry when I was a white belt. He is a stand up guy who cares about his students and always went out of his way to help me. I can't speak to how he runs his school right now, but don't run your mouth about him please. Phone Post

Oh and he's a black belt under Rigan Machado, btw. Phone Post

Great advice from the individuals who live in the NOVA area. You can't go wrong with FFX JJ, also Vanguard but that would be a hike for you.
