The majority of onlookers thought that Johny Hedricks beat Georges St-Pierre Saturday night, including a furious UFC president Dana White. However, Judges Sal D’Amato and Tony Weeks saw it for GSP, and, in the absence of a tapout or knockout that is what determines who is the champion.

“I did beat Georges St-Pierre," said Johny Hendricks to Ariel Helwani. "I did deserve that belt. I won that belt. But two people didn’t see it that way and guess what, I’m going to go back home. I swear to god, I’m going to get stronger, better and faster and that just won’t happen again. I knew I had to beat him, and I did. He’s all banged up. There’s nothing I could have done better.”
Hendricks was asked what he thought about GSP indicating he might be retired.
“I don’t care," said Hendricks. "I want that belt. That’s my belt. He knows it. I’d retire too. I wouldn’t want to give it away.”
What do you think UG? If you were a judge, who would you have given the belt to? And why?
Understandably Hendricks was upset but he was coming across as pretty douchey after the fight. Saying shit like he was only hitting GSP with 70% and than Dana calling him out on it.
I scored it rounds 3 and 5 for GSP, 1,2 and 4 for Hendricks. The difference is GSP was squeaking out 10-9 rounds where as Johny had dominate 10-9 rounds. Still a 10-9 is a 10-9.
It's not a far stretch to give GSP the first round. Definitely not the robbery people are making it out to be.

Sadly hendricks is one of the sorest winners/losers ive seen. When he wins he cried for how long that he was the contender and wouldnt take another fight unless its for the title. Then he looses his title match and still cries. We all seen what u did johnny... Do it better next time so judges dont screw u over. (And yeah he deserved to be contender and won last night but still needs better sportsmanship in my eyes)
Johnny beat himself, said it in another post, you don't coast the last round if you think you are winning, you put your stamp on it.
And you don't hit someone with 70% power to see if you can go deeper in the fight. You answer those questions when you are the champ, not trying to become one.
GSP won that fight, cause he didn't coast or quit, simple
Hendricks Ur a clown. U left it in the hands of the judges. U deserve to lose. GSP longest reigning champ in UFC. U hurt him in 2 rounds and u coasted. Stop talking shit and start looking in the mirror. U got out pointed by the champ. U beat him up and lost.
Only thing signifigant that happened because of the decision, was that Vegas got rich of MMA bettors
if you listened at all to the things george was saying for the last year, it was obvious he would have retired or at least announced his leave tonight, win, lose, or draw.
I'm shocked by the number of posters who watched the fight, saw both guys afterwards, and still post things like "GSP won that fight." We've intellectualized this sport to the point where we're admitting one can get the shit kicked out of them in a fist fight and still win.

no we havent.
"we" understand the way that the scoring system works.
Yes the scoring system sucks, but if you understand it, you would know that at the very least it was close fight. Certainly not a blow out.
No you lost deal with it and come back and FINISH GSP next time..Close fight could of went either way.. Thought it ways the right decision..Oh Dana is a clown period
TexDeuce - GSP is my favorite fighter but he lost and his corner thought he lost. I was shocked when they announced the winner.
His corner and damn near every other knowledgeable person in the world though Johhny won. Decision was one of the worst even IMO given the magnitude of the fight.
Im considered pretty knowedable as is nobones. Both of us hold the notion that R1 was close enough to have gone either way.
