I hate Rashad Evans but everyone who is crying about his performance tonight and saying he lost a fan b/c of the way he fought is not an MMA fan. He fought the way he needed to fight to win. He used his superior wrestling to repeatedly take Silva down and shut down his striking. Go watch kickboxing.
pot, meet the kettle
He fought a great fight indeed.
I watch MMA because I want to see a good fight not a "win". yeah he won, but bored the crowd and audience in the process.
He is a pro fighter so he gets more $ winning so I can at least see the point in that argument.
double post
lmao with an 09 date calling someone noob.......
I like fighters who fight to finsh not win on points
i just wish the better fighter wouldve won.
kooldover - i just wish the better fighter wouldve won.
The better fighter did win. Silva can't defend takedowns so he lost. If he was able to defend takedowns and keep the fight standing he would have won. Similar to BJ Penn in the lightweight division.
Rashad fought to win without a doubt. His fight was less than entertaining. Atleast if he wants to take people down repeatedly he can work on his GNP and try to entertain the people who are paying to watch the fight. I don't pay to watch wrestling matches or boxing matches, or BJJ or kickboxing I watch MMA to see it all used together.

He did under the rules and rounds alotted. That's why i say all main events should be 5 rounds and then we might be talking a whole different story as Rashads takedowns were getting stuffed in the 3rd and 2 more rounds might have changed the fight.
ZUFFA!!!
actually I think rashad would have won by TKO in a 5 rd fight because Thiago was way too tired.
Rashad dominated all but 30 seconds of that fight.
jman - I watch MMA because I want to see a good fight not a "win". yeah he won, but bored the crowd and audience in the process. That's where we disagree. I want to know who the best fighter is. Not the most entertaining, but the best.

I've never had a problem with guys winning under the rules. The whole point of competing is to win, and how can you fault a guy for winning the best way he knows how?
What the fuck? I thought he fought a great fight and I don't even like him. Had no idea this would even be an issue when I logged on.

Then you must haved the Dos Santos and Daley fights. :(

That bastard!
Getting back in the W column with a less than exciting fight will do far more for his career that losing a 15 minute slugfest. He needed the win and got it by executing a smart gameplan. Unless you are paying his bills, stop crying about it.

I agree. MMA is a sport, and the goal is to win.

The people paying his bills are all the poor saps that paid to watch that shit fest of a main event.
i wish they never implemented time limits!
