Try winning a fight impressively in front of more then 200k people. With the amount of events there are now, just being in the UFC isnt enough for anyone to know who you are. Then there is the fact that Weidman's list of win still isnt that. Maia and Munoz are nice wins, but he needs another high profile win before people start claiming the champ is ducking him. Jon Fitch had to win 8 fights in the UFC before he got a shot

You could easily argue Rockhold deserves a title fight with Anderson instead of WEdiman. Rockholds wins are better then Weidman's. Kennedy, JAcare and JArdine are better then Munoz and Maia. Twice as many people saw Rockhold/Kennedy as saw Munoz/Wediman too.
