Hey Joe Rogan RE: Boxing

Pretty sure the sport isn't getting swallowed. Just saying.

Boxing and mma will only ever be as popular as their biggest stars Phone Post

Perfect response given that SN.

I wonder how that dynamic changes given that mma's biggest star is a former boxercise instructor.

That video is retarded, the comments on it even more so. I watch both MMA and boxing, but like MMA a lot more. Everyone has their preferences, what is the point of bashing the other side. Phone Post

"UFC and MMA sucks! UFC is nothing more then tv show, a big brother type of show... "

Looks like George Orwell is a boxing fan. Phone Post

take DeGale off that video please lol

Only linked the video because it started with the Rogan quote......The rest of it sucks.

watch your mouth bra...the video was good, just didn't need James DeGay

That right there proves his point broski. Its getting swallowed because the only relevent names left are less than 5.  The end of that video was pointless cause nobody cares or knows who those chumps are.

Last week's Mayweather-Cotto fight had 1.5 million PPV buys and brought in $94 million. Just saying.

And showcased on the undercard was up and coming star Canelo Alvarez who is only 21 years old. He will be around headlining PPVs of his own long after Mayweather and Pacquiao are gone.

Not to mention PAC Man wasn't even a blockbuster star when Rogan did that interview after the Mayweather De La Hoya fight.

He never would have predicted the meteoric rise of Manny.

I'm surprised Rogan being the sensible guy that he is hasn't apologized for his comments which looking back are clearly Cunty. Phone Post

Exactly. These promoters are too good not to build up the next superstars. They have never failed to do so. Keep hoping boxing is going to die.

Boxing fans have been hearing that since the 50's bro lol

Lucian Bute is a bigger star in Canada than GSP. The Klitschkos sell out soccer stadiums in Europe. The Kameda brothers get record TV ratings in Japan.

How exactly is boxing dying?

I dont think Canelo is a star in the making, most people believe when he fights someone good he will lose.

I heard something about him headlining a PPV against Kirkland next, if thats true we will see what kind of a star he is.

in Mexico he can be big but I dont see him as any kind of big PPV draw in the US.

anyway both sports are great, neither are going anywhere, shit like this is just retarded. mma fans need to get off the boxing is dead shit and boxing fans need to get over the fact that mma is here.

he'll walk through Kirkland imo...there isn't really anyone outside of PBF and Martinez that would beat him at JMW..

UGCTT_Rychek -  Not even gonna accept the fact that Rogan is correct? Boxing isn't what it used to be. It is only what it used to be about once or twice every year.

How is he right? by saying there will be no new stars? That is preposterous. He was/is totally wrong. There is still huge interest in boxing, and in time new stars will replace old ones.

What about Cotto? I think they all beat him.

I think Max was even saying Canelo will lose to good fighters when he fights them.

I think he is a good young fighter but I dont see him as the next superstar that is gonna carry the sport.

I wanted to be nice nice with that dude, but he wanted to make it confrontational and say a bunch of silly unnecessary shit.  The reality is the two sports can co exist comfortably and I'm a fan of both of them.
Max Kellerman is going to do my podcast one of these days when we get around to figuring out a date, and I'm sure we'll have an AWESOME conversation and we can talk with massive appreciation about both sports.
Now, if it was Lou on my podcast, I would hope that we could learn from our previous conversation and it could be more enjoyable for both of us.
