Hieron should have gotten nod over Ellenberger

It wasn't a robbery...but I had Hieron winning the first and third rounds in that fight...He was the more active fighter and landed more strikes in both of those rounds per Fightmetric.

What say you?

Buffer should have used the men in black memory thing toward the camera and all those in attendance. Phone Post

I had Jake but wouldn't have been surprised if it went Hieron's way.

I thought Berger landed the better shots and controlled the centre. Got a few takedowns also but nothing of consequence. Phone Post

Lol he did nothing Phone Post

There are far more worthwhile things to be outraged about than who won that piece of shit fight.

Tough fight to call, both guys seem tentative and not all that interested in engaging. I thought for sure it would be a draw. I think the take down that Jake got in the 2nd round and the elbows he landed may have been the deciding factor. All I saw from Heiron was him throwing a lot of faints and stuff to keep Jake on the outside. He was more interested in waiting for Jake to make a mistake rather than bringing the fight to a guy with a questionable chin and cardio. I can understand why the judges gave to Ellenberger.

Hieron did very little to win that fight. Ellenberger won at least 29-28 and I could argue a clean sweep.

Seriously,

Heiron wasn't doing shit.....

Jake should have easily been able to run him over

I have no idea why Jake fought such a tentative fight.

On the few times Jake did press forward, he got nice takedowns, and landed solid punches

It's like Jake had an ear piece on, and somebody was telling him to take it easy on Heiron

JE's confidence did not seem all that high. Last fight he gassed out and was clearly concerned withhis cardio, which imo explains his very low work rate

Before he would fight with aggression and fearless, but after being kod for the first time and fighting someone who previously beat him, I really do think that's why he was so tentative. And worried about his conditioning of course

Nail on the head. Phone Post

who cares... it was a crappy fight.  They both lost imo.  the bigger loser was Jay heiron though, because he didnt go for it.  He essentially admitted defeaet before the fight was over.  Now he'll probably be banished to the prelims against mike pierce where he'll probably be cut after another loss.

Zuffa needs to weed out these boring fighters.

watched most w/out sound & honestly thot Jay won.

End of fight, was surprised to hear Goldie Light say Jake did enuff to win...?

Ellenberger won imo but it was nothing to brag about. It's like he was so scared of tiring or fading late that he didn't do much of anything. Phone Post

Any tactical, competitively even fight = the shits to you guys

I enjoyed it. Both guys simply could not breakthru and impose their game and dominate. Hieron was more technical but had to be weary of Jake's power. Jake was kept guessing by Hieron's output and versatility and didnt want to burn himself out in the first and had to pick his shots.

I was leaning Hieron but would have to rewatch.

should have been a 5 rounder

As bad as I'd like to see Hieron succeed after all these years, I disagree.
He knows how much he's fought to get to this point.
He didn't come out and take it, and he should have tried.
And he's been on the better side of bad decisions plenty. And that's why he got this fight.
High expectations for this fight, with a subpar performance by both.
Decision was just.
It's definitely time for Jay to put on his thinking cap. Phone Post

I personally thought that the fight could have went either way. The commentary in that fight seemed to be very biased in favor of JE and against Jay Heiron. Phone Post

I had jake winning albeit unimpressively Phone Post

This

Although i def think jake won. Hes coming off that side-of-the-head kampmann loss, did you really expect him to go wild and risk Hieron ripping him with something similar? Jay is a Dangerous fighter. Not the most well rounded but always crafty and dangerous. I thought it was a good fight and i thought Jake showed some maturity and smarts lacking in his previous bouts.

LOL you truly do seem delusional

That fight wasn't tactical. Heiron was throwing a bunch of half hearted strikes as well

Its funny, when there is a very noticeably boring and tentative fight going on from both fighters

People like you will chime in, and say that the fight was actually good, because both were just being so tactical(and all this other non sense) and that the problem is we all just don't know what we are talking about etc

LOOK, a fight doesn't have to be slug fest or a brawl.

But WE can recongise when a fight is not living up to its potential and or is being fought tentatively etc

There is very noticably difference between boring and exciting

You can fight with a gameplan and still be exciting etc

Why do people have to over complicate this so much?

No, we don't want to watch K1 or tough ma brawls

We just want to see EXCITING fighters put on exciting fights in the UFC
