When you are in high mount do you sit on lung (i.e. Heavy hips)or do you pinch knees and keep hips high to deal with bump? I have seen it taught both ways…The sit on lung (heavy hips) method seems like you could put a ton of pressure but may be more susceptible to bump vs hips high without the pressure but you can react to the bump better.
so good
Hargreaves -Wow, excellent details.
reminds me of the baby armbar
For me a truly high mount is not very susceptible to the bump. Basically feeding your hips to the guys chin means that when he bumps you shouldn't move much. You can be caught when they feed their legs up under your armpits.
This was always impressive to me considering Keenan was outweighed by 30lbs.

I try to crowd the upper body and move into the space under the arms when it becomes available, and don't feel susceptible to a bridge any longer when I am there. In terms of pressure, I think of high mount in almost the exact same way I use my body in kesa gatame, especially when I switch to S mount. It should be absolutely miserable for the bottom man the entire time.
