Higher Carb Experiment

Good read Phone Post 3.0

That was a good read. I have had similar results.

A couple years ago I was all over the Paleo movement. No gluten, barely any carbs. Was rolling around 170 pounds and doing gymnastic style training.

Got into powerlifting and started eating a lot more carbs. Now about 205-210. Obviously have more bodyfat than I did at 170, but by no means fat.

Feel great and will probably never go back to low carb.

I don't believe any single macro-nutrient is evil...But where carbs are concerned I do worry about the source, quality and quantity. Thast being said...My body has always thrived on a lower carb regimen. I just feel better when I limit and or omit them.

I would have to agree with Taku, Carbs in itself aren't bad for you and depending on the of training you do is necessary. I for myself work better if I limit my carbs throughout the day and just go moderate at night with sweet potato or white rice. I tend to feel better during the day and seem to have more energy.

Granted at the moment i'm doing a snatch or clean and jerk workout followed by a quick 10 min or less airdyne or sprint type work out (so I don't need a whole bunch of stored glycogen to function or workout.

I eat 500 carbs daily. I feel and look better eating high carbs. Phone Post 3.0

I have an almost identical story as cashingchecksandsnappingnecks.

I'm thankful for doing paleo bc it taught me and my wife to cook good foods and rely on good ingredients. But Alan Aragon and some other ppl have opened my eyes to the nonsense that's paleo.

1g protein/lb, usually a little over 0.5g fat/lb, and the rest in carbs.

And even if you follow the paleo movement, a lot have kinda changed their tune on carbs, specifically "resistant starches". Phone Post 3.0

Of all the varied eating plans I've tried over the years (and there have been a lot) I would say I have the most success with my less complicated version of the CKD.

I'm starting a maintenance recomp today. 305g Carbs. Yeaaaaaaaa! Phone Post 3.0
