Hip lock on your tape...

Hi Roy,

Thanks for the armdrag counter tips.

on your leglock tape, you showed a hip lock from leglock position. u grab the guys wrist or neck and pull towards yourself.

this is quite unique, as i don't see many hiplocks...are there any other entries into this particular hiplock?

is this the same pressure applied if you have side mount and grab his ankle and pull it to his hip? ...or if you have mount and a grapevine, reach back and pull to his hip?

are there any similar hiplocks from other positions?

regards

PablosNewton,

Glad you liked the arm drag counters.

You asked, "are there any other entries into this particular hiplock?"
The answer is yes. All entries into the heel hook are entries into this
hip lock.

You also asked, "Is this the same pressure applied if you have side
mount and grab his ankle and pull it to his hip...or if you have mount
and a grapevine, reach back and pull to his hip??" In most instances,
"No." The pressure is different.

You also asked, "Are there any similar hiplocks from other positions?"
Yes there are. However, hip locks are not high percentage techniques.
Getting into the positions is difficult enough, but then maintaining
control over the person's body for an extended period of time and then
getting all of the right angles to apply a hip lock are what make these
techniques "low percentage."
