Its been a few months since I last posted here. The hip is actually still sore....Depending what I am doing. For Instance playing outside with my 4 year old son Cody & running with him is quite painful. Unfortunately that is the reason why I wanted the surgery the most. At this time I am working out 4 days a week(weights & cardio) & stretch almost daily. So, I know its not from a lack of doing nothing. I go back in Monday(APRIL 25) to see why I am still in consistant pain? I hope they have anawers?
JMYSTERIO,
How are you feeling? Hope your recovery went well?
I hope that ye are feeling better and your follow up apointment goes well. I have a bum leg myself so I understand at least part of what it is like to recover from a bad surgery.
This past Sunday on 60 minutes they covered hip replacement overseas, India. This woman from Florida went their because their procedure appears to be better and is not approved in the U.S. My understanding in the U.S., they cut off the ball part of the femur and put on a replacement ball. This weakens the joint and causes a longer recovery period with less mobility, awkward mobility, more pain, swelling, etc. In India, they cover the ball with a stainless steel cap. No cutting of the bone! Faster recovery, less invasive, stronger same mobility because they are not changing the angle of the ball and socket.
I am 36 years old. They want me to start Physical treatment. They believe it may be the muscle that is causing the pain? They suggested more streching. I told my doctor I stretch alot. Hopefully with the added Physical treatment it will speed up the recovery that I was hoping for?
