Not defending her, but jail...really? I understand the contempt of court charges but they are giving her exactly what she wants by jailing her. Terminate her employment and fine her, that would resolve the problem. Wasting money on keeping her locked up (I don't think she's a threat outside of her job as clerk) just makes her a martyr.

They cant terminate her since she is an elected official and the judge didnt want to fine her because he believed it would do nothing to change her behavior because she could just crowdfund for the money to pay her fine. She is being held in contempt until she orders/allows her minions to supply marriage licenses as well as herself.
