“The whole process was unpleasant,” Black Keys lead singer Dan Auerbach told Rolling Stone. “The most unpleasant part was being around him.”

That unpleasantness stems from Miller having “no idea” who The Black Keys, winners of seven Grammy Awards in the past five years, are.

“The first thing he told us was, ‘I can't wait to get out of here,’ Auerbach said of Miller. “He knew that we signed up to do this speech for him. And he made no effort... he didn't even figure out who we were.”

Auerbach and Black Keys drummer Pat Carney were so upset by how Miller, who called the institution “a bunch of jacka---s and jerks and f---- gangsters and crooks,” was acting they decided not to stick around for his performance after giving their speech.

“We were so disappointed that as soon as we got offstage, we left,” Auerbach said. “We walked right outside and left the f-----g building... we weren't wanted by him there, so we sure as f--- weren't going to hang around.”
