Dont Forget Jon Jones just earned his Blue last year, so belt rankings aren’t much in mma.
Lights Out Lurker -You do realize that using jujitsu in a fight and showing your real fighting skills is more important than proving that you can do a technique a thousand times to get a belt. The belt system is silly if you are an actual fighter. If you only do jujitsu then yes, belts are the most important thing in your world lol.
I think the belt system preserves real technique as opposed to the shitty “jiujitsu” taught in most mma gyms. Ortega is just the beginning. Soon you won’t be able to dominate with sub-par jiujitsu. The further from the source, the muddier the waters my friend.
