Hominick has patented the "Run like a pansy-girl" technique and pulled out a win with it. Reminiscent of running from a schoolyard bully, IMO. This technique is obviously endorsed by UFC judges and may very well become THE best way to avoid grappling.
"thats exactly what I was thinking. Im pretty sure hominick has been kicked harder"-I agree. Plus that last 15 seconds we seen Mark come out of shell and unleash what we could have seen throughout the whole fight. Mark did what his corner told him to do and you can't beat him up over that. He won fair and square.
I think that Hominik deserved the win based on his striking and takedown defense. Was it strange to see a fighter running away ...yes however it was a good stratgey to avoid the clinch and takedowns. I look forward to seeing him in the future the guy has great striking ability.
"Yes but he does use his real name. Sadly even if I disagree with the comment you have to somewhat respect someone who (unlike the vast majority of UG posters) uses his actual name"
I am an unabashed Gurgel fan, but I gotta hand it to Hominick. His foot work was nothing short of awesome. He knew when to plant his feet and throw and when to move. Nothing wrong with working a good game plan.
I loved the fight! Thought we all got treated to some very skillful striking, from both guys! Jorge's right hook counters and leg kicks were great.
IMO the loss doesn't hurt Jorge at all, and Hominick's stock keeps rising. Credit Silva with some excellent matchmaking on this fight!
TTT for Homminick vs. Guilliard or Fisher. Jorge vs. Edwards or Guilliard.
Honinick checked pretty much every one of those leg kicks. He also stuffed every one of the take down attempts. On top of that he showed fast hands and he leg swept Jorge multiple times.
Could of went either way imo. Jorge was impressive, playing Hominic's game and almost pulled it out. Whats that say about Jorge if Hominic is considered a world class kick boxer?
