Honestly dont even think Toney trained MMA at all

he wa slike a fighter from UFC 1 who thought he couldnt be takin down.Actually i dont think he cared either way as long as he got paid He obviously was also fat

Say WHA?!?!?  You mean these reports about "almost catching Dean Lister" in subs and being a handful for King Mo and Antonio McKee in training may have been untrue?

only training he did was for the UFC pre show.He does know how ot sell a fight But he didnt train and had no chance

he did more training making up stories than working in the gym

Chomas - has to be one of Dana's most regrettable decisions

Yeah right, generated a ton of hype, got Zuffa posterboy Couture an easy win, gives him concrete evidence against the "boxers can come in and dominate" arguement.

come on guys u know he had some training...where else could he have learned that AWESOME groundgame he displayed laying on his back for 95% of the fight??! u sure dont see those hiddens skills in a boxing match!!!

I don't think so. The whole thing went down just as he wanted.

i dont think dana was gonna get punked by an "outsider" in his own yard .

I doubt he trained a day. Best paid 2 minutes eva.

Where is that video of James and Dana at a table after they made the deal talking about how they would put Toney with a camp and make it look legit? I know they couldn't work out a deal the first time then suddenly they had a deal... You think Dana paid Toney a millionto lose? Phone Post

I think Dana made the fight because Toney was getting too much press to just ignore him. I think Dana did ask toney to get into a serious camp but boxers don't train like MMA fighters.. you don't find folks better than you to improve, you find lesser fighters to feed your ego.

hey at least he did a better job defending the arm triangle than Carwin did......or maybe Brock's technique on the move was superior to Randy's.

carwin at least gave brock a beating at LEaST to make it look like a contest nor did he get taken down like Harry Potters pansy broomstick tho

Zero evidence that toney even took 1 jujitsu lesson in that fight. He is a con artist and a clown.

Like paying the sky to be blue.

Oh, he probably trained hard, but a person with 9 months of training looks like shit against a man who has been fighting MMA for 10+ years.

Not train? no shit...he didn't even know how to tap properly

Dana could really milk this Toney thing for some more $$$ if he wanted to. Imagine the PPV buys for "James Toney v. Royce Gracie" or "James Toney v. Ken Shamrock" etc.

Royce by Armbar.

Shamrock by Steak & Chicken.

:-)
