I know a few Hooters still show it, but that's obviously an indvidual location choice.
I remember they all used to show it.
Now you can go to the 'Sports Bars' listing page, and several states don't have any of their Hooters showing it.
UFC Bar/Sports Bar Listings
Wow... no Hooters in GA anymore...... I wonder why...
A lot of Hooters have gone under. There are none left in New England.
Some Hooters are franchised and some are corporate so I am sure it is a local decision.
It propbably also has to do with the ridiculous amount of money it costs a bar to show a PPV. I have looked into it several time and could not justify showing the fights at my bars.
wait, what?
now what am i going to do for a hot wing/silicon/UFC fix on saturday nights?
Hooters sponsors my show. It was never a national thing at all. It is up to each GM. It may have something to do with the amount of shows. Adding a $900 bill each month is a toll. THey have to ask if it is worth it. What do you think? 300 extra people who are too cheap to buy the fights at home. How much money do you think they spend during the fights? If it is no more than the bar would make on a regular Saturday, which it usually isn't, then it is not worth it.
OmegaPoon -why the hell would they do this? every atlanta hooters I saw em at was PACKED....
Kayson's in Suwanee is having it, but they aren't listed.
The point is that they are packed even when they don't buy the PPV. Not to mention all the free MMA on nowadays.
It may, but I know of a BWW and a couple of Hooters here who only pay $900. There are different packages as well. You don't actually buy it through the cable or sat provider. You have to go through one of two marketing companies. I know that some places just go with the UFC shows. Many of them, however choose the package that gets them ALL the sports PPVs including the WWE crap. They are also given promo materials for all that junk like posters and stuff. The large package may be well over $1000. I don't know.
The way it works is it is based on your fire code occupancy. So I am sure a Hooters has to be on the top of the scale when it comes to cost and size.
The cable companies monitor this too and actually have spot visits to make sure your in line and not showing it if you are not paying for it.
The music industry does this too. They use a service called Musiac
Hooters always drop, or at least droop in time.

I guy that trains with us manages a restaurant that is getting it for us, and he says it depends on occupancy and how many folks you are allowed to seat. This may be saying the same thing is you, but I didn't hear anything about fire codes.
It depends on venue size, which is determined by the fire marshal's capacity certificate. I used to sell premium packages to bars. The biggest dicks are the NFL for sure. They want all the details about floorplan, number of TV's and occupancy certificate (in some cases copies of the above).
all the local ones here show it
St. LouisMMA, why would the NFL care? All the games are free unless you are talking about Sunday Ticket. That would make sense, I guess.
Last I heard Hooters was in negotiations with UFC to sponsor them. They still show it @ Hooters NYC.
Sometimes it attracts the wrong crowd. It's up to the managers whether or not they show it.
^^^ The wrong crowd? What other crowd is there? I mean. The same dudes who like being led on by semi attractive, busty teenage girls are the same crowd as the UFC fans. What crowd is the correct crowd?
Meaning that they are afraid of fights breaking out, and fuckholes who just wanna dwell off of drinks and appetizers until the fights are over, then leave and not tip.
My sponsors (local Hooters) say that the UFC crowd is not bad at all. The WWE rednecks, on the other hand, are awful.
They had UFC posters in the Hooters in Macon last week when i was there.
