The funny thing is, if knees on the ground were legal as Conor would like, Khabib might have literally killed Conor by kneeing him to oblivion while on top. Goes both ways
The very fact that DURING THE FIGHT Connor felt the need to express that his pre-fight talk was just "business", as opposed to simply turning it up and trying to crush Khabib in warrolior fashion, shows that Connor is not a fighter/warrior in the pure sense. He is more of a salesman/hype-artist athlete.
That is not to say he isn't talented, but he felt the need to explain himself in the middle of the fight instead of FIGHTING.

Yup.
To Conor’s credit though, I rewatched the fight last night and was surprised how well he did. It was a closer fight for the first 4 rounds than I remembered.
I think Conor accepted the Nate and Floyd losses in part because he had so many prepackaged excuses. Weight difference, short notice, sport difference, etc.
No excuses for the Khabib loss. He got the shit beat out of him.
He shouldn’t be ashamed. Khabib is a great fighter and a terrible matchup for him. But, Conor is a winner and he can’t accept a loss that can’t be explained in any way other than acknowledging the other guy had his number.
