I think Johnson's striking is on another level.
I dunno, Gus looked like the better striker up until the eye poke.
Maybe rumble took a few minutes to warm up though.
I think the key would be keeping it standing and being able to get in and get off his shots.

I don't know but after seeing your earlier thread I hoe you pick Jones. 
AJ seems to have the speed to close the distance but it will be a bit harder vs Jones than Gus imo, Gus has the footwork but Jones uses his reach better but Jones has kinda looked slow and awkard in his striking defense of late imo but he's also proved his chin. Jones also has wrestling, Gus dont.
Did AJ really outwrestle Davis? And has he improved his ground defense?
If bones let's rumble connect 1/4 of the times he let Cormier, then he's taking a permanent dirt nap

I don't think jones has the greatest striking defence! He generally jus backs straight up with his arm reached out as opposed to using good movement and angles! I cud see him gettin clipped by Johnson especially with his speed and way he closes that distance!
Jones will frustrate Rumble by kicking him in the knee every time he tries to close distance. Once Rumble slows down, Jon will get in close where Rumble can't generate as much power, and use clinch fighting and elbows to wear him down. Once Rumble is sufficiently gassed, Jones will toss him on his head and finish him with ground and pound or a submission.

Uppercuts. Cormier was landing them on Jones at will in the opening rounds. Rumble used them to pretty much decapitate Little Nog. My vote is Rumble Rd 2 TKO (STFUppercut).
Fuck it's that reach of jones. But if Rumble can effectively wade through it we could very well see a new champ.
Unfortunetly bones + greg jackson gameplan beats rumble imo.
