The kid is 13-0 and looks like a small Belfort but more oriented toward the ground. Yet his wins are not over big named opponents other than Jason Black whom he utterly dominated. My question is does anyone have any "insider" knowledge, where you've rolled with him or know more details about how good he really is. So far he is very impressive. Thanks in advance.
Tyson griffin is his next opponent so we will find out soon!!!
this is true ^^^^
Any idea how Tavares will do? Tyson is great. Beating him would be very significant. Can't wait for this fight.
Tyson is obviously going to take him down I am very excited to see his guard game again
Thiago was very exciting to watch against Black. Tyson hasn't been too
impressive in his last 2 bouts (I think he should have lost both decisions),
so who knows?
That being said, a 100% Griffin will win.
Can't wait to see him and Tyson Griffin.
That should be a crazy fight.
Dominating Black was VERY significant. That is a big win, especially given the way he controlled the whole fight.
We will certainly get more answers when he fights Griffin, who is one of the best.
Great fight.
it is unfair to say tyson wasn't impressive in his last two fights...his opponents were great also
Tavares is very impressive, and he will sub Griffin.
I never saw Tavares before his fight with Black. He made me an instant fan. Very impressive.
not quite ready to jump on the Tavares bandwagon just yet.
Black hasn't looked good in years, and it was his first fight at 155 in which he looked almost dead at the weighins.
Tavares is obviously good though.
He sure has talked alot about his standup, but he's never used it, or even tried.....
Naoyuki Kotani may have one of the worst chins in MMA today, and he managed to go 15 minutes with Tavares. Guys like Huerta and Azeredo took him out with basically no trouble.
I wouldn't be suprised at all to see him get his takedowns stuffed, and get KO'ed by Griffin.
The thing he said about Jason Black fighting in the old man division was the funniest trash talking I've heard in the UFC.
Very impressed with Tavares if he gets through Griffin I'd like to see him against Ken Flo.
ttt
Thiago is a Brown Belt from ATT and Black Belt from Murilo Rupp, great cardio, great Muay Thai, and better BJJ. Tyson will be a great challenge and you bet your ass I'mpulling for Thiaginho to submit Tyson on the fight. Oh I think he is only 21 or so.
Thiago by sub 2nd round
ya this kid looks really tough, i think he could b champ at 155 in the future, i would love 2 see him and b.j. i think that would be the best fight at 155 today, or maybe jz and b.j as well would b a burner
