How good was Erik Paulson?

Erik Paulson is pretty much considered "the" encyclopedia of submissions. I remember watching the shooto fights, MARS event and Extereme Fighting and I was always a Paulson fan. A true embodiment of Mixed Martial Arts before that phrased was ever coined.

Awesome to see him in Brock's corner (testament to how serious Brock is about MMA) and I still know of a lot of current fighters who train and study with Paulson.

I think like Rickson and Ruas, Paulson was just slightly too ahead of his time to ride the current TUF/CBS Noob MMA wave.

His name is Eric Paulson...

He held the light-heavyweight title in Japanese Shooto for 5 years.

He's coached a who's who of MMA fighters
