whats a great way to slow a guy down...make his thigh twice the size it was before the fight...going to be hard though because bones is so freaking long

Jones also has twigs for legs, literally the perfect frame for MMA, got to slow him down and kicking takes away at least some of his ridiculous reach advantage. I would think kicking is a big part of Lyoto's gameplan.

I think Jones is better at absolutely everything you listed. I guess mental strength could be a question mark.

Yeah, he needs to knee his thighs and body in the inch also. The elbows are to make him think twice (and maybe cut) about trying to grab Machida.
