On Normal?
Good lord these games are long and some of the areas are INSANELY difficult to get past.
I played GOW II a couple years ago and got over half way before giving up.
I bought the PS3 Collection a couple weeks ago and have been playing the first one ever since. Still have not finished it. I'm basically forcing myself not to quit without finishing this one since I'm almost done, but damn...
I'm in Hades right now jumping on the giant spinning bones with razors on them. Christ. Not to mention the part I just finished (the screen right before you get Pandora's Box)took me several hours and dozens of attempts since I had no magic.
I want to at least be able to say I finished part one before three comes out.
Beat both. Gonna tear up 3. Some of my friends got stuck and quit though.
I like them, but its one of the games I enjoy more for the experience than trying to clear everything on hard.
MW2 though I beat the campaign and spec ops all on the hardest difficulty. Very frustrating.
Gears of War is another series I beat 1 and 2 and will take care of 3.
Is Gears of War a forced linear game like GOW?
I'm really not into open world games. I love the Uncharted, God of War, Batman type games that have a clear path and linear story.
Can any of you sugest any other games like that for PS3?
GOT DAMMIT! I played for another 3 hours last night and STILL have not beat this fucker! I'm at the final battle now. Its just me and Ares fighting it out with giant swords now. Fucker is tough.
By the way, beating the 1,000 Kratoses while hugging your family to keep them safe is RETARDEDLY DIFFICULT.

The version of me in the living room screaming for like 3 hours failing on this over and over completely votes you the fuck up!
I played the first one through to the end, though there was a lot of frustration along the way. I didn't enjoy the game at all.
I beat them both on PS2. Great games.

Amen. I can't believe that I have to do it again. they don't give you a save point between that and the final sword battle, and I was unable to beat the sword battle before quitting last night.
I beat GoW I on PS2 on normal and hard.
Haven't played GoW II yet.
Sniffy - I beat them both on PS2. Great games.
I beat the one on PSP
as above, only played and finished the psp version. i don't bother with upping the difficulty and found it fun but quite easy. but i prefer not to get stuck or frustrated on narrative driven games like this.
not sure i really want to both with gow3 as i never player or finished the 2 sequels.
GOW 3 will be a prequel? I didn't realize that.
i did. great games. gow was one of the first games where i didnt realize the cutscene ended and it was time for me to move.
I don't remember too much frustration in the first when I beat it on Normal.
I only got an hour or so into the second before I got kind of tired of it. When I tried to go back to it my PS2 was dead.
I finally beat one tonight.
Started two all over again so that I can enjoy it in fullscreen HD. Got a good ways into it already.
i only beat the PSP version.
I have, plus Chains of Olympus on the PSP. Great games apart from the Quicktime events. Fucking hate them.

Beat both 1 and 2 on PS2. Easily 2 of my favorite games of all time and they pushed the PS2 to the limits of it's capabilities.
I remember some frustration with the final battles in both but good games should do that to you IMO. No too much mind you but if you haven't said 'Fuck me!' at least once and felt like beating your Mrs for asking if everything's 'ok in there', then you aren't playing a truly great game.
