How many of you tuned in to see Bubba?

Me neither and that's why he made 33k last year Phone Post 3.0

Yeh I'm a shit mma fighter too and he made 33 k more than me so I think he did ok. Phone Post 3.0

How many of you tuned into the super bowl to watch the punter? Or the backup punter? Phone Post 3.0

Why? He wants to whine about his pay, he deserves this.

He's a C level fighter making more than he's worth. He should go learn a fall back trade. Phone Post 3.0

I'd say millions as they're part of a team. Phone Post 3.0

Did you read the article?

He said he was happy about his pay, happy with the fact that he is able to make any money at all as a pro athlete, and is already doing a fall back trade on the side.

Just as the backup punter is part of the team and you never saw his actions or didnt tune in specifically for their performance put rather the entire package he is a part of, bubba is part of the UFC and part of the card. He might not be THE reason you tuned in, but he's part of the package deal you tuned into watch. Phone Post 3.0

Wow....lof of UFC shills and losers on this thread..........

Yes, but he's a very SMALL part of that package.

Dude got over 30k for going 1-1 in his first year in the UFC. That's not a bad place to be at all.

There's a reason the headliners make most of the money - they bring most of the eyeballs. You toil on the undercard with the hope of one day being one of those guys.

I know a lot of fighters would of loved to make 33k in the last year.

Headliners should make far more money like you said.

I find that hard to believe. The Superbowl was watched by something like 110 million in the US. Do you think if the day before the game it was announced that Denvers punter suffered an injury and would be out, a few million would have skipped it?

YEs, and he apparently received ZERO dollars for taking part in their reality show, which UFC makes money off. Can you name another reality show where the people work for free?

Pauly D and Situation got paid $150K an episode for Jersey Shore, so $2.5M over 12 episodes. Can you tell me why the UFC has their fighters film for free and then pays them poverty wages after filming is over and you think that's OK?

Plus, Bubba made $33K, gross. Generally about 20% will go towards trainers/managers/attorneys so say he has about $27K left. He will now pay ALL taxes on that as fighters are independent contractors, say 25%. The dude realistically made about $20,000 in a year, fighting in the "Superbowl of MMA" and being a part of the UFC's reality show. Hopefully he can get some government assistance to cover his bills.

I tuned in hoping to see him tuned up, and I know I'm not alone. The man deserves more for a public beat down. Phone Post 3.0

Everyone does, for without fighters at Bubba's level and lower the UFC simply cant fill cards. It's true that many do not root for him specifically but that's not the point here: we all value the role he performs.

No one buys a UFC PPV for one fight. UFC PPVs are ordered for a full card of fights with ideally a marque match up or two. Even the unaired prelims carry value.. the fact that anyone at all is in attendance for them, and the fact that UFC uses them as leverage to subscribe to Fight Pass, etc, proves that. Phone Post 3.0

This....maybe the UFC should start doing with PPV like they did on FOX 1 and only have 1 fight like Junior/Cain but still charge $60, considering no one tunes in for people like Bubba anyhow.

So your explanation for fighters being underpaid is that the UFC makes shitty cards with fighters no one wants to see? Phone Post 3.0
