How to rank VITOR @ LHW?

A lot of people say he put up the best fight of all who stepped up to Jones and came the closest to beating and finishing him.

I agree with that.

Where do you rank him at LHW considering his performance?

OSBtro11 - Somewhere behind Henderson and machida. So possibly 4th in the division..IMHO Phone Post

This was a one off fight where he had nothing to lose, and just went for it. He looked very impressive. I think he should consider moving up to LHW full time. How close he did off of a 3 week training camp leaves interest in a 2nd meeting with Jones.

So with all that I say he's probably not ranked, but can easily stay at that weight and get a fight with a top 5 and thus would be ranked after that win hopefully. Phone Post

On what planet did Vitor look impressive?

He had one armbar attempt and then essentially folded.

I agree with a lot of points in this post and thread.

And I think all things considered he looked impressive.

Some don't agree but I think he made JBJ look human.

I've never seen Jones worried until this fight.

He almost beat UFC Jon Jones using Pancrase rules due to the broken hand. Pancrase Vitor > Jon Jones

Stick to MW. He's second best in that division. Give him Weidman so he can derail that hype train. Phone Post

Making it four rounds and eating tons of kicks, punches and elbows in the process is your idea of folding. A lesser man would of folded in the first when Jones got out of the armbar and lit Vitor up with a barrage of elbows. He also got a triangle chock and worked towards quit a few submission, as well as caught Jones with a few combos.

I think Vitor losses to Lyoto, but might beat Hendo. Vitor vs Hendo is a good relevant fight that needs to be made. Phone Post

I think he is top 3 in either division. He dropped to 185 because he wan't motivated and training properly... he needed a change to re-energize his career. Now he seems in a great place, in a good spirits and training really hard. He looks much better at 205 physically, but either class he is a force in.. it's his choice.

The way he lost to anderson, anyone would have lost. That miracle kick finishes anyone at any weight, it was a perfect shot. I'd like to see a rematch before Anderson retires. Vitor has a bright future for the next 3-4 years.

Hate how people say he folded he was taking some nasty elbows but still pulled guard all fight, eating those elbows for a chance of a sub. Phone Post

I haven't seen a single poster worth reading claim that Vitor showed anything but heart. Bunch of keyboard warriors here.

Voted up.

He's near the top of both divisions. I think the fact that he destroyed Anthony Johnson at 205 should count for something. Johnson's not a joke.

I've been a Vitor doubter for a while (really, since the first Randy fight). But I'm ready to rank him pretty high.

I think Chael, Anderson, and Weidman should be higher than him at 185. I think they beat him, too. At 205, Machida beats him. Shogun and Hendo would be great matchups. Not sure about Gus or Glover. He beats Bader.

Behind rashad, machida, shogun, hendo and ramage.

Bloody Pregnancy Fluids - Behind rashad, machida, shogun, hendo and ramage.

Why behind Rampage? Rampage just lost to Bader and looked awful.

If he's up for it I see a lot of interesting fights both at 185 and 205.

I'd like to see Vitor VS(in no particular order):

Bisping(He deserves a title shot but just as a fight)

Weidman

Hendo again.(Just rewatched part of the first one Pride 32)

Rampage

Machida

Chael
