I started to browse the Crossfit site, and I'm really interested in their
philosophy of fitness. However, it's pretty confusing trying to figure out
their workouts. I guess it's because it's not exactly a set routine of
exercises. How do you choose your Crossfit workout? What is the
framework that you use to devise your workout? I'll still be checking out
the site for more info. I'm even thinking of joing a Crossfit gym in SF or
Oakland. Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated!
I was going to do just that. I guess another question would be...do I stop
my regular cardio/weight training? Currently, I'm doing circuits with
weights and HIIT for cardio.
Try the site below....if you go to their forum they have scaled down versions of every WOD listed.
Also, read the Start Here section on crossfit.com and the FAQ section.
Good explanations, everybody!
Just finished "Fran" in 4:51. Dont really feel the need to do anything else
hard today........

If you start on that @#$# Linda you will get a real good idea of what Crossfit can do to your body.
Just couldn't keep up 55 total deadlifts at 1.5x bodyweight. Especially not with the 3/4 BW cleans. I had to drop weight.
I feel like such a failure now.
Linda is a real ass-kicker. Definitly one of the hardest Crossfit workouts. Kicked my ass last night.
I have to lighten up on the deadlifts when doing Linda. I weigh 192 lbs. Supposed to use 1 1/2 times my bodyweight for the dl's, but instead kept it at 245 lbs for the first 6 sets, then 265 for the next 2 sets, then 285 for the next 2.
Thanks guys, I really feel I have a better understanding of what Crossfit is
now and how to do the workouts. At first I was totally lost. It's going to
be strange not doing my routine that I've done for so long, but looking
forward to a new workout. Other than squats I've haven't done any of
these Olympic lifts before so I'm going to start from a few days back with
the pullup, pushup, squat workout. I'm also in the bay area, so I might
check out the Crossfit gym in either Oakland or SF once I get some more
time. Thanks again!
I found a week or two of Scrapper #1 got me ready to do the crossfit.
Will crossfit increase mass as well? Or just reduce body fat?
Never mind- I just re-read the FAQ. I have never done crossfit but I dont think it will hurt to try. I do not have any major compeitions coming up.
wow...I am so out of shape. Thought I was in good shape, but I was
wrong. I love the variety of exercises. Can't wait to see where my fitness
level will be in the next coming months.
